Lanchester Dardar

Other 2014 Texas Drug Exonerations
On January 28, 2010, police in Houston, Texas arrested 27-year-old Lanchester Dardar after confiscating a bottle of suspected codeine syrup.

On March 2, 2010, Dardar pled guilty in Harris County Criminal District Court to a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance. He was placed on probation for one year.

In December 2013, the Houston Police crime laboratory tested the seized substance and found there was no controlled substance present. The laboratory notified the Harris County District Attorney’s Conviction Review Unit, which then informed Dardar’s defense attorney.

The prosecution joined Dardar’s attorney in a motion to vacate the conviction. The motion was granted on July 8, 2014 and the charge was dismissed.
