On September 9, 2014, Harris County, Texas sheriff’s police arrested 22-year-old Danziel Baker after they confiscated a liquid which they suspected was codeine.
On September 12, 2014, Baker pled guilty in Harris County Criminal District Court to possession of a controlled substance. He was sentenced to probation for five years.
In 2015, the Harris County District Attorney’s Conviction Review Unit was notified that laboratory tests on the seized substance were negative for the presence of any controlled substance.
The prosecution informed Baker’s defense attorney and joined in a defense motion to vacate the conviction. On March 25, 2015, the motion was granted and the case was dismissed.
