Mia Sussman, ’07, a lecturer at Michigan Law, is the vice president of institutional advancement at Equal Justice Works (EJW), a Washington, DC-based nonprofit
organization that focuses on careers in public service for lawyers.

Sussman has served at EJW for more than a decade, vastly expanding the size and impact of the EJW Fellowship program. From 2007 to 2011, she worked as a litigation associate in the Washington, DC, office of Latham & Watkins LLP, where her practice focused on antitrust litigation. Sussman also helped manage the firm’s pro bono program, assisting Holocaust survivors in applying for reparations from Germany.

Her previous public interest experience includes serving as program assistant at the International Senior Lawyers Project and as a summer intern at the Human Rights Law Network in Delhi, India. She serves on the boards of the Washington Council of Lawyers and the Anti-Defamation League, and on the Washington Lawyers’ Committee of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
