Description: Join the Public Interest Practitioners in Training (PIPIT) for a discussion with Professor Oday Salim about environmental justice law. Environmental justice law applies civil rights frameworks to instances of environmental pollution that disproportionately impact minority communities. To achieve its specific aims, environmental justice law employs a broad range of laws including tort, constitutional, civil rights, and administrative. Today the principles behind environmental justice are also behind disciplines such as climate justice, energy justice, and conservation justice. Join Professor Salim, director of the Environmental Law & Sustainability Clinic, to discuss the importance of justice to public interest practice today and in the future. Space is limited.
