InfoSession: Akin Gump Pro Bono Scholar's Presentation

Date: 01/31/2019
Time: 11:50 AM to 12:50 PM
Contact: Office of Career Planning

Location: Jeffries Hall 1020

Description: Join attorneys from Akin Gump to learn about the firm’s Summer Pro Bono Scholars program. Started in 2008, the program provides top first-year law students interested in law firm practice with the opportunity to develop an early expertise in public interest law. Following their 1L year of law school, the Pro Bono Scholars first spend four weeks with the firm working on pro bono matters. They then spend at least seven weeks at a public interest organization. In past years, the firm has placed Pro Bono Scholars directly with organizations with which the firm works, while others have obtained their public interest positions independently. The next summer (as rising 3Ls), the Pro Bono Scholars join the firm as participants in the firm’s general summer associate program.
