PIPIT: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly - A Discussion about Effective Lawyering from the Bench

Date: 02/20/2019
Time: 11:55 AM to 12:55 PM
Contact: Office of Career Planning

Location: Hutchins Hall 218

Description: Join the Public Interest Practitioners in Training (PIPIT) and come talk with Judge Judith Levy, U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of Michigan about what it takes to be an effective advocate as you plan to embark on your careers and the skills you will need to succeed in your chosen field. Judge Levy has presided over countless matters and important litigation, including the Flint water litigation, and has seen effective and not so effective advocacy in her courtroom since first presiding in 2014. Talk with Judge Levy about these experiences and how to ensure you embrace the good, avoid the bad, and prevent the ugly that encompasses oral and written advocacy before the courts. Space is limited. RSVP via Symplicity, by going to the Events tab and selecting the "Workshop" you wish to attend.
