Description: ACS, with the generous support of LSRJ and ACLU, is pleased to present Louise Melling, a longtime civil rights lawyer and the deputy legal director at the national American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). Ms. Melling will speak about reproductive rights.

Ms. Melling is currently Deputy Legal Director of the ACLU and the Director of its Center for Liberty, which deals with ACLU
s reproductive freedom, women’s rights, GLBT rights, and freedom of religion and belief. Ms. Melling has been with the ACLU since 1992 and previous directed the ACLU Reproductive Freedom Project.

Ms. Melling is a graduate of Yale Law School (J.D. '87) and Oberlin College (B.A. '82). Before joining the ACLU, she clerked for Judge Morris E. Lasker of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and was an associate at the law firm of Rabinowitz, Boudin, Standard, Krinsky & Lieberman.
