The Tuition Refund Plan (TRI) is an elective insurance plan that provides coverage for tuition, mandatory fees, and University housing costs if a student must withdraw from the University due to qualifying illness.
While the University currently provides partial refunds for withdrawals, they are limited and usually effective only when the student withdraws early in a term. TRI significantly extends and enhances the University's published withdrawal policy. If a student withdraws because of injury/sickness or psychological/emotional reasons, TRI returns 75 percent of the insured term's tuition/fees and University housing costs.
