Student Organization Printing Policy

Each student organization will be given a quota of 1,000 pages per semester to be used for student organization-related matters. Students are not permitted to use the print allowance for personal or academic use.

The president and secretary of each recognized student organization will be assigned a printing account name and password. At the conclusion of their term of office, students are expected to pass this information along to their successor. To ensure that each job will be charged to the appropriate student organization, and not subtracted from an individual student’s Law School quota, all print requests require the organization’s group account credentials. Details on installing and using this printer can be found below.

When an account has exceeded its print quota, or is within 50 pages of reaching its 1,000 page limit, an email notification will be sent to the organization’s email address. There will be no additional notifications after the first message. Student organizations may also monitor print quotas on the Law School’s print quota webpage.
Note that this is the same page that the link created on your desktop directs you to when installing the student organization printer. To login, please use your organization’s username and password, not your uniqname and UMICH password.

If the account has exceeded the 1,000 page limit, a minus (-) sign will appear. The organization will be charged 3 cents per page beyond the initial 1,000 pages. Charges are NOT suspended during study days and exams for student organization print jobs.

The printer is set to print double-sided by default like all of the other student printers. You may select 1-sided printing manually. Two sides of one sheet of paper will count as one sheet of paper in terms of the quota.

For questions regarding account names and passwords, charges, and general inquiries about the print policy, contact Student Affairs.
