​Transactional Law Clinics Program
The Transactional Law Clinics Program (TLCP), which consists of the Community Enterprise Clinic, Entrepreneurship Clinic, and the International Transactions Clinic provides legal assistance to startups, nonprofits, community-based organizations, small businesses, entrepreneurs and social enterprises.
The TLCP offers a range of transactional legal services including:
- entity formation
- structuring and governance
- advising on corporate fundraising and financing issues
- counseling on intellectual property matters
- drafting commercial contracts
- advising on real estate and land use matters
- advising on employment law issues
The TLCP provides Michigan law students with the opportunity to develop the skills needed to be competent and effective transactional attorney including:
- client intake
- client interviewing
- client matter and project planning
- client counseling
- contract drafting
- strong oral and written communication
- ethical legal practice
- cross cultural lawyering
- reflective lawyering
Students interested in bidding for the Entrepreneurship Clinic and the Community Enterprise Clinic must bid through the Transactional Law Clinics Program. Students will be assigned to a transactional clinic based on experience, interest, and client need.
