SUMMARY:Defendant Tyrone Townsend was convicted of five counts related to trafficking two adult women and sentenced to 320 months in prison and 10 years supervised release. Both victims, one of whom is Canadian, testified that Townsend beat them and sexually assaulted them in order to force them to engage in commercial sex acts. Townsend transported the women between Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. Once in Florida, Townsend forced the women to engage in commercial sex acts from an abandoned apartment and also from the locations of customers, including local homes and hotels.
