ELPP Conference 2010
The Environmental Law and Policy Program plans and sponsors interdisciplinary conferences regarding current issues in environmental law and policy in coordination with our student Environmental Law Society. The theme of the 2010 interdisciplinary conference was "Environmental Law and Economics."
A sustainable future depends upon rethinking our approach to environmental protection so that a healthy environment is seen as the foundation of a strong economy. The 2010 conference included high-profile speakers and panel discussions focusing on traditional approaches to reconciling environmental interests and economic concerns, such as cost-benefit analysis and market-based regulation, as well as efforts to recalibrate those relationships, including President Obama's efforts to promote development of a green economy (view the conference program).
