Jonathan Bruno is an assistant professor of law and a postdoctoral scholar at the Michigan Society of Fellows. He teaches and writes in the areas of legal and political theory, constitutional law, torts, and legislation and regulation.

Prior to joining the University of Michigan, Professor Bruno served as a Climenko Fellow and Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School. In that capacity he taught Legal Research and Writing to first-year students. His prior experience includes the part-time (pro bono) practice of immigration law, and service as a judicial intern to The Hon. Patti B. Saris of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

A graduate of Oberlin College (BA, 2007) and Harvard Law School (JD, cum laude, 2013), Professor Bruno completed doctoral studies in Harvard's Government Department (PhD, 2017), where he was a recipient of the Robert Noxon Toppan Prize for "best dissertation upon a subject of political science."
