Administrative Portal

The Administrative Portal is a "web portal" designed for staff to conveniently access important announcements and useful information in an interactive, real time format. You can find a link to the Administrative Portal at the bottom of the Law School web pages or by going directly to http://mlawadmin.law.umich.edu.



There are actually two URLs for the administrative portal: One that requires a login (for access from home or other non-work computers) and one that doesn’t.

Login-free URL: http://mlawadmin.law.umich.edu/auto (to make this work you need to add ‘law.umich.edu’ to your local intranet zone; see instructions below.)

Login URL: http://mlawadmin.law.umich.edu

For convenience, you will probably want to create a Favorite/Bookmark to this site. The process for this Web site is different from the usual practice of adding favorites (IE) / bookmarking links (Firefox), so please follow the instructions below to create them.

Instructions for configuring your browser to allow auto login to the Administrative Portal

Internet Explorer:

1. From within the IE browser, click on Tools | Internet Options…
2. Click on the Security tab
3. Click once to select Local intranet and then click on the Sites… button
4. Click on the Advanced… button
5. In the ‘Add this Web site to the zone’ box, type *.law.umich.edu and click on the Add button next to it
6. Click OK to save this setting and then click OK on each remaining dialog box to close them
7. Go to http://mlawadmin.law.umich.edu/auto and access the administrative portal without logging in!

1. From within the Firefox browser, type about:config into the address bar. Don’t be alarmed if you see a warning message about voiding your warranty. Click the “I’ll be careful, I promise!” button to continue.
2. Type into the Filter box: ntlm-auth.trusted-uris
3. Double-click on network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris
4. Type https://web.law.umich.edu into the dialog box and click OK
5. Close the about:config tab
6. Go to http://mlawadmin.law.umich.edu/auto and access the administrative portal without logging in!

1. From within the administrative portal, locate MLawAdmin auto login under ‘Your Work Links’ (on the left-hand side of the page)
2. Right-click on it and click Add to Favorites…
3. It will appear in your Favorites list
