Senior Day is the Law School's ceremonial event for graduates. It is a wonderfully traditional graduation ceremony—caps and gowns are worn, special speakers give addresses, and graduates are individually recognized. Families, friends, and guests are, of course, welcome to attend the celebration.

We traditionally hold two Senior Day celebrations each year, one in December at the Michigan Theater, and one in May at Hill Auditorium.

Law School graduates are also welcome to participate in University commencement, also held in the winter and spring.

Graduates

Congratulations!

As Senior Day (Michigan Law commencement) nears, here is what you need to do to make sure your graduation day is successful.

  • Provide your guests with date, time, location, and venue.
  • RSVP for Senior Day ceremony and reception for yourself and guests planning to attend.
  • Rent academic attire. Pick-up will be at the Law School in the day(s) leading up to the ceremony.
  • Pick up your graduation announcements. Each student gets one pack of complimentary announcements, which will be available before the event. An email will be sent to graduating students when the announcements are ready for pick up.
  • Vote for student speaker for ceremony.
  • Attend Senior Celebration (more details to follow via email).
  • Review graduate instructions, which will be emailed to you closer to the ceremony.
