Building up to itMichigan Difference campaign ends; fundraising for new building continues Just $6,579,779 to go by December 31. On December 31, the Michigan Difference campaign comes to an end. So does the Law School’s current campaign to raise $135 million in private gifts for student support, faculty support, the Law School Fund, program initiatives, and the building project. Fundraising for the new building and Law School Commons, as planned, will continue past the end of the year. But December 31 is the deadline for donors to receive recognition for their campaign gifts by the University and the Law School. To date the Law School campaign has raised $128,420,221, which is 95% of the $135 million goal. To make a gift, please visit or call 734.615.4500. During the campaign, private donors to the Law School have given $16 million for faculty support, including the creation of seven new endowed professorships, and about $25.5 million for scholarships. Since fall 2007, a matching fund created by University President Mary Sue Coleman to encourage new gifts for graduate and professional students has added more than $2 million to the scholarship total. Campaign gifts of about $52.5 million have been made to support the Law School Fund and various programs including the clinics, public service, and international initiatives. About $34.5 million has been raised toward the building project, nearly half the $70 million goal in private funds. |
