A TOAST TO PRO BONO/PUBLIC INTEREST WORK Students who have completed at least 50 hours of pro bono work and those who are planning to work in public interest or government during the summer and post-graduation were honored at the Public Service Sendoff in the Michigan Union
on April 11. Guest speaker and MLaw grad Laurel Dumont, JD/MSW '05, founder/executive director of The Center for Collaborative Change in Newark,
N.J., shared anecdotes and advice
on pursuing a public interest career.
The event also included recognition of award winners 1L Megan
Sanders, 2L Joseph Morrison, and 3L Rachel Burg, who received the Pro Bono
Service Award; Steve Gray, Michigan Unemployment Insurance Project, who was
