MLK AND ECONOMIC JUSTICE On the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday (January 16), the Law School
organized the forum "Dr. King's Vision for Economic Justice: Focus on Detroit." Panelists included Detroit City Council President Charles Pugh; New Detroit CEO Shirley R. Stancato; Excellent Schools Detroit CEO Dan Varner, '94; and Michigan Chronicle Senior Editor Bankole
Thompson. Prof. Angela Dillard, Director of the Residential College and professor of Afroamerican
and African Studies, moderated. Prof. Dana Thompson, '99, Director of the Law
School's Entrepreneurship Clinic, delivered opening remarks.
