Getting Library Materials Information on locating and retrieving Law Library Materials; searches; recalls; microform materials; in process pulls; closed stacks pulls.
Expedited Photocopy Service Effective May 15, 2008, the University of Michigan Law Library will cease to offer its for-fee document delivery service, the Expedited Photocopy Service (EPS). Researchers and others who need copies of materials in the Law Library collection will be referred to the Michigan Information Transfer Service (MITS). MITS, a unit of the University of Michigan, is an established document delivery service for individuals and businesses. MITS document delivery service provides specific resources for “legal professionals.” For further information, please call MITS at 734-763-5060 or visit their website at: http://www.lib.umich.edu/mits/m-attorneys.html.
Interlibrary Loan The Law Library can obtain, via interlibrary loan, materials not available on campus. Eligibility is limited to the University of Michigan Law School Community. Interlibrary loan requests can be submitted at the Reference Desk, on Sub-1.
For more information, see "Interlibrary Loan Service" (pdf).
Carrel Assignments Patrons wishing to charge books may apply for a carrel at the Law Library Circulation Desk in the Sub-2 core area. Books can then be charged to and kept in the carrel. Any library user may sit in a temporarily unused carrel.
For more information, see “How to Check-out Books to a Carrel” (pdf) and "Application to Check Out Books to a Carrel" (pdf).
Ask a Law Librarian Information on contacting the Law Library Reference Department.
