If the book you want is checked out...

A due date in the Catalog record indicates a book is checked-out to an office or carrel. In that instance, you may submit a request to recall the book. Recalls are done daily, Monday through Friday. Recalls submitted by 11 a.m. on a weekday will be ready by 5 p.m. of the same day.

If an item is checked out, use the Request feature in the Catalog to request a recall.  If you have an office or carrel, the retrieved book will be checked out and delivered to you there.  Otherwise, it will be on the holdshelf at the Circulation Desk.  If you need the book the same day, take the Catalog printout (if available) to the Circulation Desk on S-2 and request that the book be recalled.  Staff may be able to get it for you on the same day; sometimes it will not be possible.
