Photocopier/Scanner Locations
Instructions are available at each machine. Ask at the Circulation Desk if you have questions.
Scans are free; copies cost $.10 ea with a photocopy card. See below.
Scan to USB Flash drive:
- S-1 copy area, copier scans in b&w.
- S-2 copy room, copier scans in b&w.
- S-2 reserve area, copier scans in b&w.
Scan to email:
- S-1 copy area, copier scans in b&w.
- S-2 copy room: Printer A scans in color (prints in b&w).
- S-3 North: copier scans in b&w.
- S-3 West: Printers B and C scan in color (prints in b&w).

Photocopy Cards
Copies are 10¢ a page and all of the copiers in the Library use photocopy cards. The reusable copier cards are free and are available in boxes on the top of the card encoder machines located in the copy rooms on Sub-1 and Sub-2 and in the Reserve area on Sub-2. Value may be added to the cards in $1.00 increments. Any patron may also purchase a copy card from the Circulation Desk on Sub-2 using a personal check. These copy cards are available in $5, $10, or $20 denominations.
If you are a one-time user who needs to make less than 5 copies, you may obtain a card that will provide these copies at no cost at the Circulation Desk on Sub-2.
If you experience problems, either with copy quality or money lost due to a malfunction, inquire at the Circulation Desk on S-2.
UM Accounts
You may charge a copier card to a University of Michigan Account.
To get a copier card, complete this form
with chartfield information and authorized signature from your department. Take form to the Law Library Director’s Office, S-180 Legal Research Building, during regular business hours.
