Research Assistance
Providing legal and non-legal academic research in support of faculty teaching, speaking and publication, the service is staffed by law student research assistants and supervised by the Faculty Services Librarian.
Are you Eligible?
If you are a regular or clinical University of Michigan Law School faculty member, a Dean or an administrator, you are eligible for the service.
Visiting and adjunct law faculty are eligible for the service during the semesters they are teaching in the Law School.
Service Parameters
We cannot conduct research in support of the practice of law (pro bono, clinical practice, etc.) or in support of trial or appellate work (including amicus briefs).
The service does not perform cite checking. However, we can help you fill in missing elements of citations, e.g., publication date, issue numbers, etc.
Questions?
How long will the research take? Is there a limit to the scope of my research? For the answers to these and other questions, visit the Faculty Research FAQs page.
