Biography

Joining the faculty in January was Professor Jose Alvarez, formerly of George Washington University's National Law Center. He teaches courses on international law, international organizations, international legal theory and foreign investment law. His particular scholarly interest is in the lawmaking legitimacy of institutions such as the United Nations.

Alvarez left Michigan Law in 1999 to accept a position at Columbia Law School.
