The Michigan Law Financial Aid Office is here to help you through all stages of the financial aid process, whether you're still deciding on where to go to law school and how to finance it, once you're enrolled and are having a billing difficulty, or are about to graduate (or have graduated) and want to know how to pay back your loans. We administer need- and merit-based scholarships, process federal and private loans, assist with payments of summer fellowships, and administer Michigan Law's LRAP (loan repayment assistance program) for our graduates. We look forward to helping you with any questions about funding your law school education.
Any member of the financial aid staff is able to answer general financial aid questions you may have via telephone or email, or as a walk-in. Lengthier, more complicated situations may require an appointment.
In addition to assisting with all general financial aid inquiries, the financial aid staff has areas of specialty:
Vicki Abbott, Assistant Director Federal and private loans, bar loans
Katherine Gottschalk, Assistant Dean Need- and merit-based aid, budgeting
Kathy Johnson, Financial Aid Officer Loan repayment assistance program, exit counseling
