Description: Trials of corrupt politicians, individuals who support foreign terrorism or commit cybercrimes, international drug smugglers, leaders of Chicago’s violent street gangs, corporate executives and doctors who commit healthcare or tax fraud, and organized crime bosses responsible for notorious murders ― these are just a few matters handled by Assistant U.S. Attorneys. Come meet AUSAs Kavitha Babu (‘04) and Kelly Guzman (‘07) and hear about their practice in the Criminal Division. Both are also members of the Office's Diversity Recruitment Committee. Learn more about working at the United States Attorney’s Office, the value of government service, and what it is like to prosecute and litigate criminal and civil matters on behalf of the United States. The AUSAs will be speaking about internship opportunities for while you are in law school and, later, career opportunities as a licensed attorney. The office encourages and welcomes applications from diverse candidates. A pizza lunch provided.
Co-sponsored by SALSA, BLSA, and Outlaws.
