Description: 1Ls, if you are interested in potentially working in government or public interest as a career, please join OCP’s Government & Public Interest Advisor Melanie Macey and Public Interest Director Alan Kahn to learn about the myriad possibilities for a meaningful, demanding, and fulfilling career. Opportunities to make a difference are as broad as the areas in which you can have an impact. Civil rights, child advocacy, consumer protection, labor, financial regulation, prosecution, indigent defense, domestic violence, human trafficking, immigration, child welfare, education, housing, poverty law, reproductive justice, environmental law … the possibilities are many! This program is intended to benefit 1Ls who want to learn more about the potential for working in government agencies and nonprofits and the resources available to support your public service job search.
