Date: 09/25/2013
Time: 11:45 AM to 01:00 PM
Contact: Ford,Timothy James

Location: Hutchins Hall 116

Description: American law schools embody a distinctive strain of progressive thinking, often at odds with the progressivism of other times, places, and traditions. Walter Olson, Senior Fellow at the Cato Institute and founder of the legal blog, examines the long ascent of what has been called litigation liberalism in the American legal academy, how it tends to place our law schools at odds with the needs of the practicing bench and bar, and its connections to distinctively American ideas of social engineering, with elite lawyers as well as law professors themselves in the engineers' seat. This event is hosted by the Federalist Society.
