On-Site Inspections

The ABA requires that a faculty member make an on-site visit to each placement when more than 6 academic credits are awarded for the externship. Host sites should expect the site visit to occur at about the midway point of the semester.

Nota Bene

"I met with the student extern at the host organization in Washington, D.C., and am happy to report that the program and his experience merit the credit he will be receiving. The student has been assigned to, and done work on, all of the projects being undertaken at the site with the exception of one. The student feels he is gaining experiences he could not have had at Michigan, which in turn is helping him make choices for his future career."
