University of Michigan Law School Constitutional Law Workshop Fall 2007
This seminar is a semester-long workshop in constitutional law and constitutional theory. On six occasions during the semester, scholars of constitutional law from other institutions will come to discuss their works in progress. The visiting scholars will submit papers to the workshop two weeks in advance of their visits. Members of the workshop will read the papers and, on the week preceding each visit, discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the paper submitted by the coming visitor. Members of the workshop will also be expected to read other scholarship in constitutional law or constitutional theory, as chosen by the organizers, that is relevant to understanding or thinking about the merits of the visitors' papers. Then, on the day of the visit, we will discuss the visitor's work in progress with the visitor. One goal of the workshop is to assist the visitors in improving their work.
People who are not members of the seminar (e.g., faculty, other students) are welcome to sit in on the sessions when the visitors present, but priority in participating in the conversation will go to members of the seminar.
The Workshop meets on Tuesday's from 3:40 - 5:40 p.m. in room 236 Hutchins Hall.
