Study of problems arising in commercial settings, including sales, security interest, checks, promissory notes, and other commercial paper. Principal emphasis on those articles of the Uniform Commercial Code that deal with sales, secured transactions, and commercial paper. Professor White covers Articles 2,5 and 9 (the revised versions in each case). The first four or five weeks of the course will be devoted to the sale of goods and to the licensing of software (revised Article 2 and UCITA) and the last 8 or 9 weeks to secured transactions (revised Article 9 and Bankruptcy).
