This class is only available to students who are enrolled in (or havepreviously taken) the 669 Evidence course. The course will focus on theeffective and strategic use of the Rules of Evidence in litigation. Wewill look in-depth at several critical areas of evidence, includingimpeachment, hearsay, expert testimony and privileges. Our study willinclude both drafting exercises (motions to admit or exclude variouspieces of evidence) as well as courtroom based scenarios in whichstudents will have to dissect and apply the various Rules. The goal ofthe course is for students to have a functional mastery of severalcritical (and challenging) areas of evidence, preparing them for futurework as litigators.
