Fall 2010 Class DescriptionsAs of 6/19/2013 3:33:06 AMUrban Comm Clinic SeminarStudents in the Urban Communities Clinic (UCC) provide transactional legal services for groups engaged in neighborhood-based community development. Students are responsible for all aspects of client representation; they interview, plan, counsel, negotiate, draft, problem solve and advocate. Much of the UCC's work involves corporate, tax, real estate and municipal law. The UCC's clients are mostly non-profit organizations involved in community development issues such as housing, education, health and the arts. The Clinic represents clients in the Detroit metropolitan area. Students learn the skills of a transactional lawyer while exploring a community-based non-traditional approach to poverty law. 3.00 hours
