Post-Graduate Fellowships and Summer Funding Sources
Post-graduate fellowships and summer internships enable outstanding individuals to fuse ideas and concepts acquired in the classroom with real world practical training. They often set the foundation for a lifetime commitment to serving the community. These Web pages contain a listing of possible summer, student funded, and post-graduate fellowships. We also highly encourage you to research other public service fellowship and summer funding resources, including the Funding chapter in Making a Difference: A Law Student's Guide to Public Service.
Michigan Law students should also check the Office of Financial Aid's Supplemental Sources of Financial Aid Web page. (Note: Applicants for funding should be aware that fellowships and other funding may be taxable income.)

Debt Management and Loan Forgiveness Programs
Michigan's Debt Management/Loan Forgiveness Program provides an opportunity for University of Michigan Law School graduates to accept a lower paying job without feeling overwhelmed by the debt accumulated while earning their degree. The program will actually contribute to loan payments, making a modest paying job more realistic. Applicants working in a law related occupation and graduating from the University of Michigan Law School in 1986 or later can be considered for the program.
A federally-sponsored loan repayment and forgiveness program, the College Cost Reduction and Access Act of 2007, will substantially lower the debt burden of law graduates practicing in "public service." For information on the CCRAA go to Michigan Law's Office of Financial Aid's FAQ.
The National Consumer Law Center's Student Loan Borrower Assistance Project is a resource for borrowers, their families, and advocates representing student loan borrowers.
