  • The Otis M. Smith Scholarship Program provides scholarships for working single mothers who pursue higher education on at least a half-time basis. Not more than four scholarships of $2,500 will be awarded to successful candidates from select nationally recognized universities: Wayne State University, all campuses of the University of Michigan and the Columbus College of Law at Catholic University Law School. Applicants must be current residents of any of the following counties of southeastern Michigan: Wayne, Oakland, or Macomb.

  • The Jeptha Wade Schureman Scholarship Program provides up to eight scholarships of $7,500 to students who have lost their fathers because of death or termination of parental rights before reaching the age of 18. Applicants must be residents of the following counties at the time of high school graduation: Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Monroe, Lenawee, Washtenaw, Livingston or St. Clair. Candidates must also demonstrate financial need, scholastic achievement, leadership and character, and be between the ages of 17 - 27.

The Western District of Michigan annually awards $4,500 in scholarships to law students who are either from the Western Federal Judicial District of Michigan or have a connection to the practice of law in the Western District of Michigan which suggests that they will become practitioners in this geographic area upon completion of their legal studies. The Committee requests that the applicant provide a copy of his or her current resume, a cover letter describing the candidate's connection to the Western District of Michigan and a statement not to exceed three pages in length describing the qualifications the candidate believes warrant his or her selection for a scholarship.

Benjamin and Cherie gubin scholarship

The Kalamazoo Community Foundation is offering several scholarships to Kalamazoo County (Michigan) students. The eligibility criteria is having been a Kalamazoo county resident during their senior year in high school or a graduate of a Kalamazoo County high school, enrolling or enrolled full time in an accredited master's, Ph.D. or professional degree program such as law or medicine. Student must demonstrate academic achievement and potential for success at the graduate level with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Student must also demonstrate financial need. A scholarship of $2,000 will be awarded to a Jackson County resident attending an accredited law school or an accredited college or university with acceptance to an accredited law school. The student must have a GPA of 2.5 or better for law school and 3.0 for college. In addition, the applicant must submit a letter of recommendation and his/her law school/college transcript.

The Kalamazoo Community Foundation offers the Benjamin and Cherie Gubin Scholarship of up to $2,000. Students who were permanent residents of Kalamazoo County during their senior year in high school or graduated from a Kalamazoo County high school are eligible to apply. Applicants must also demonstrate academic achievement and potential for success at the graduate level with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Community service and financial need are also considered.

  • The Kimberly M. Cahill Leadership Memorial Scholarship of $3,000 is to be awarded to a second or third year law student who is currently enrolled in law classes at any accredited Michigan law school. The recipient should demonstrate outstanding qualities of leadership and the ability to inspire and effectively lead others to a defined objective. The recipient must also demonstrate a need for financial assistance and an academic standing (3.0 GPA or above).
  • The Macomb County Bar Foundation Trustees Law School Scholarship of $3,000 is to be awarded to a second or third year law student who demonstrates a commitment to serve or contribute to the Macomb County legal community, a need for financial assistance, and high scholastic achievement.
