The Kern County Women Lawyers Association of Bakersfield, California awards scholarships to both female and male law school students. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, good academic standing, and have a connection to Kern County. The Foundation is very interested in candidates who have interests and experiences concerning issues facing the profession and, in particular, those issues important to women. Recent scholarships have ranged from $250 to $3000.

Three scholarships of $2,500 are awarded to Hispanic law school students who attend a law school in the Bay Area or who are from Santa Clara County. More scholarships may be awarded if funding is available.

Lang, Richert & Patch, located in Fresno, California, offers a scholarship of $1,000 for payment of law school tuition. Application for the Scholarship is open to a person who is in his or her first year at a law school or who is applying to law school. The Scholarship will be awarded only to persons who graduated from a high school in the Central Valley of California.

Students may apply for Graduate and Medical Student Scholarships from the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara. Applicants must have attended at least four of the six secondary grade school years and graduated from a high school in Santa Barbara, California. Applicants must also be full-time medical or graduate students at an approved U.S. college or university. Areas of study include medicine, law, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, business, education, and a variety of Master's and Ph.D. programs.
