The Cabaniss, Johnston Scholarship is awarded annually to a law student who is a resident of Alabama, is attending an accredited law school in the United States and will be a second year student. The amount of the scholarship is $5000. A second place scholarship of $1000 will be awarded at the committee's discretion. While academic achievement is the key factor in determining eligibility for the scholarship; consideration will be given to other factors such as conscientiousness, dependability, civic involvement, financial need and dedication to the highest ethical standards. The Aurora Foundation Scholarship Program consists of separate Scholarship funds created by individual donors who establish specific criteria for the administration of their scholarships. Available to full-time students whose permanent residence must be in the Greater Aurora area, the tri-cities and Kendall County. These scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors, undergraduate college students, and graduate students.   • The Otis M. Smith Scholarship Program provides scholarships for working single mothers who pursue higher education on at least a half-time basis. Not more than four scholarships of $3,000 will be awarded to successful candidates from select nationally recognized universities: Wayne State University, all campuses of the University of Michigan and the Columbus College of Law at Catholic University Law School. Applicants must be current residents of any of the following counties of southeastern Michigan: Wayne, Oakland, or Macomb.

  • The Jeptha Wade Schureman Scholarship Program provides children who have lost their fathers because of death or loss of parental rights before reaching the age of majority with a scholarship of $7,500 for use at one of the 15 public universities in Michigan. Applicants must be residents of the following counties at the time of high school graduation: Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Monroe, Lenawee, Washtenaw, Livingston or St. Clair. Candidates must also demonstrate financial need, scholastic achievement, leadership and character, and be between the ages of 17 - 27.

    Several scholarships of at least $2,000 will be awarded. There are two types of J.L. Turner Legal Association Minority Law Student Scholarships: merit and financial need.
