Alaska Supplemental Education Loan This is an alternative, low-cost borrowing option to supplement funding for students with costs of attendance not fully covered by Stafford loans. The interest rates are fixed. Borrower benefits may change annually.

Candidates must be residents of New York City, or Nassau, Suffolk, or Westchester counties to be eligible for an unlimited number of loans of up to $7,500. Repayment begins one month after the date of the loan and is due in 30 equal payments. Students may apply year-round. Personal guarantors are needed.

Students may apply for interest-free loans through the Sarah and Harold Gottlieb Jewish Educational Loan Service (JELS). Applicants for these interest-free loans must be Jewish residents of the Metropolitan Detroit area and full-time students, pursuing undergraduate, graduate or professional education at an accredited college or university in Michigan. Financial need and satisfactory academic progress must be shown. Deadline: November 15

Graduate students may receive a loan with no interest accruing while the student is enrolled full-time in a degree program. The student must be a member of the Presbyterian Church (USA), a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, enrolled full-time at an accredited institution, in good academic standing and in need of financial assistance. Graduate loan caps will be determined at the time of application and the current interest rate is available upon request.

Interest-free loans of up to $5,000 per year are awarded on a competitive basis, taking into account motivation, need and self-reliance as well as scholastic record. Only students who are entering their FINAL year of study in a baccalaureate or graduate degree program are eligible. Application forms are sent between January 1st and March 31st.
