The Belgian American Educational Foundation will award eight fellowships of $24,000 each for advanced study or research at one of the Belgian Universities or other academic institutions of higher learning. The applicant must be a citizen of the United States and either have a Masters degree or equivalent degree, or be working towards a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Candidates under 30 years of age and with a speaking and reading knowledge of Dutch, French or German are preferred. Applicants are nominated by the Dean of the Law School.

Blakemore Freeman Fellowships fund a year of advanced language study at the Inter-University Center for Japanese Language Studies in Yokohama (IUC), the Inter-University Program for Chinese Language Studies at Tsinghua University in Beijing (IUP), the International Chinese Language Program at National Taiwan University in Taipei (ICLP), and similar programs in other countries of East and SE Asia. Applicants must be pursuing an academic, professional or business career that involves the regular use of a modern Asian language.

The Center for International & Comparative Studies (CICS) offers a not-for-credit seminar for master's students and doctoral students at the pre-candidacy level intending to pursue field-based research outside the United States. The seminar is open to students in the early stages of graduate training with interests in international and area studies who can demonstrate goals of completing training and research through the doctorate. Graduate students from across disciplines are invited to apply.

Albert Gallatin Fellowship: This fellowship supports outstanding, advanced graduate students engaged in the research or writing of a dissertation in the broad area of "international affairs." While not limited by discipline, "international affairs" may be taken to mean the study of political, economic, social, and legal processes across cultures or countries.
Dumas Malone Fellowship: The purpose of this fellowship is to support the research of outstanding advanced graduate students who have a need to investigate archives or other repositories of information in a foreign country or countries.
