SUMMARY:In May 2010, Defendant Dallas Cardenas recruited Victim 1 (17 year-old female) to engage in commercial sex acts by offering her a "business proposition". He would post advertisements on Craigslist stating Victim 1 would provide massages, but she would actually perform commercial sex acts. Defendant kept most of the money earned. Defendant then proposed the same business plan to Victim 2 (18 year-old female) and she began performing sexual acts for money, which was forfeited to defendant. At trial, defendant was convicted under Colorado child trafficking laws and prostitution laws and sentenced to 96 months imprisonment. Co-defendant Ryan Jenkins transported victims by car to perform the sex acts.
