SUMMARY:The Defendant, Hanoi Barbaro Acosta of Portland, Oregon, was found guilty by a federal jury of interstate transportation of a minor for prostitution. Acosta forced his 16-year-old female victim to engage in commercial sex acts through physical violence and death threats. He transported the minor victim and three adult victims from Portland to Las Vegas and Arizona to engage in commercial sex in 2007. The minor female was rescued in Mesa, AZ after calling her mother for help. Acosta was sentenced to 262 months imprisonment.
