SUMMARY:Defendant Jin Kyu Sohn worked with his co-conspirators to smuggle South Korean victims across the Canadian border to the Seattle area. Most of the victims were transported to Los Angeles, California and were forced to work in the commercial sex industry and other low paying labor industries in order to pay off their smuggling debts. Defendant Sohn pled guilty to conspiracy to smuggle and transport an illegal alien and bringing in an alien for financial gain. He was sentenced to 24 months imprisonment and 24 months of supervised release.
