SUMMARY:Jose Hugo Chacon-Roque, Aida Pereira, and Iris Martinez-Solorzano pled guilty to conspiracy to violate the Mann Act by helping to transport at least 100 women on a weekly basis from New York and New Jersey to Maryland for prostitution. Chacon-Roque assisted in the rental of apartments/brothels where the prostitutes lived and worked, assisted in the collection of money from the brothels, and owned at least one of the vans used to transport the prostitutes. Defendants operated at least 5 different brothels in Maryland. Co-Defendant Eduardo Puentes was convicted of the same charge after a jury trial and received the greatest prison sentence- 41 months.
