SUMMARY:Jeffrey L. Byrd was charged with recruiting an 18-year-old woman as a prostitute and transporting her to New York, and subsequently attempting to recruit a 14-year-old girl for prostitution. In 2003, Byrd was charged in a three count federal grand jury indictment in the Middle District of Pennsylvania. The three count charge included transportation to engage in prostitution, attempted interstate transportation to engage in prostitution, and attempted interstate transportation to engage in criminal sexual activity. After entering a guilty plea in 2004, Byrd was sentenced to 55 months imprisonment, followed by a three year supervised release, and a $600 fine.
