SUMMARY:

Defendant Epps initially came into contact with the victim through Myspace. In September 2008, Epps recruited the victim, who was 16 at the time, to travel from her home in Solano County to Sacramento to work for him as a prostitute. Epps prostituted the victim for approximately three weeks in October 2008. He used escort service websites to advertise the victim for commercial exploitation in a hotel in the Sacramento area. Epps also took the victim to a tattoo parlor to have his street named tattooed on her arm. During this period the victim earned between $9,000 and $10,000, all of which she turned over to Epps.

The case was uncovered when a federal vice task force working a sting spotted Epps with the victim outside a motel and noted the victim's youthful appearance.
