SUMMARY:The victim was a domsetic servant at the household of defendant's family in Kuwait. The family kept her from leaving and held on to her passport. She was later sent to the Massachusetts residence of defendant and his wife. After she arrived, defendant took away her passport in August 1992. She was told by the defendant that she would be shot by the police if she left the residence or even went out onto the balcony. She was physically abused on at least two occassions, was denied dental treatment and later food, and was not provided protection from the household chemicals with which she was forced to clean. She remained at defendant's residence for four months and was suppoedly paid $120 per month. She escaped in December 1992.
