SUMMARY:Defendants were part of a large-scale prostitution ring involving smuggled Mexican females (aged 17 years-old to mid twenties) operating out of Union City. The victims were transported to the U.S. through a smuggling operation near San Miguel Tenancingo, Mexico. Once the females were in the United States, many of them were transported to New York, Maryland and Virginia. The women turned over their earnings to the traffickers who would then send money back to the traffickers' families in Mexico. The victims were harbored in a "safe house" every Sunday evening, owned by Jose Luis Notario, a defendant in another case related to this trafficking operation. Adrian Notario was sentenced to 21 months.
