Microsoft Student Fellowships

One Year Student Scholarships ($3,000 EACH)

The Program in Law, Economics, and Technology awards several Microsoft Fellowships in Law Economics, and Technology. The amount of the fellowships is $3000 each. The fellowships intend to promote student research in intersection of law, economics, and technology. The scope of the areas covered by the fellowships include the economics of intellectual property and e-commerce; how the law responds to the challenges of the Information Age; how market respond to new technological challenges; how incentives are shaped by IP regimes; how to conceptualize property rights in information; how bargaining and contracts are designed to resolve problems of new networks; and more. The scholarships are awarded to candidates around the university with strong academic credentials and a demonstrated ability and interest in the study of law, economics, and information related areas. Microsoft Fellows are expected to submit a full length research paper.

Microsoft Fellowships in Law, Economics, and Technology

The University of Michigan’s Program in Law, Economics, and Technology is offering a post-graduate Fellowship in Law, Economics, and Technology. The Fellowship supports research by an individual who has finished graduate school (or is about to finish) and is writing on topics in the intersection between law, economics, and technology. The purpose of the fellowship is to foster research and interest in areas of Intellectual Property and Innovation, with emphasis on economics and empiricism as the disciplines of inquiry. The Fellow is expected to devote their time to their proposed course of research, to be in residence at the Law School in Ann Arbor, and to participate in the Law School’s law-and-economics activities. Fellowship is either for one or two semesters.
