Clinics, Centers & Programs

Welcome to the Centers and Programs section of the Law School Web site. The Law School has a remarkable assortment of programs -- International and Comparative Law, Law and Economics, Refugee and Asylum Law, and Japanese Legal Studies. The Law School's clinical offerings, recognized as among the best in the country, has evolved over time in response to student interest and faculty expertise. Michigan has clinics in trial and appellate litigation, child advocacy, community development, mediation, environmental law, and poverty law.

As a University of Michigan Law School student, you can interact with national and world leaders in each of these areas. In the recent past, the Law School sponsored workshops and symposiums that featured speakers from the International Court of Justice, former Head of States, and members of U.S. Presidential Administrations.

As a University of Michigan Law School graduate, you will receive a variety of services available to Michigan attorneys through the Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE), a nonprofit continuing legal education organization. ICLE's mission is to provide Michigan lawyers with accessible, high-quality, continuing legal education and resource materials that enable them to practice law more effectively.
