Nannes Third-Year Challenge
The Nannes Third-Year Challenge encourages students to learn, before they graduate, about the importance of giving back to the Law School as alumni. It is named for John Nannes ’73, who helped establish the challenge program and keeps it going today with a generous annual sponsorship gift.

“As an alum of the Law School, I am grateful for the doors that having a Michigan degree opened for me. I know that the education I obtained was better because of the financial support that earlier graduates provided to the Law School. And it just seemed to me that I had an obligation to do for later generations of law students what earlier generations of law students had done for me. That is the Michigan way.”
