Faculty Support

Increased faculty and research support is an ongoing philanthropic priority for Michigan Law, which, now more than ever, competes with private-school peers to recruit and retain the best legal scholars in the world on its faculty. The Law School is seeking funds for endowed chairs, research centers, research programs, and instructional programs like the In-Home Seminars, all of which allow faculty to continue to innovate, explore, and bring their ideas to our learning community, the community of legal scholars, and the world.

We welcome all levels of endowed and expendable gifts for faculty support. Endowed professorships, in particular, are a time-honored way to recruit and retain scholars of exceptional achievement, allowing Michigan to remain competitive in this crucial area of quality. By making a gift to endow a professorship, a donor also makes a prominent and permanent investment in Michigan Law.

Faculty members shown on this page hold chairs endowed by alumni and friends during our last campaign.
